Short biography
José Luis Moraga obtained a Ph.D. in Economics from University Carlos III Madrid in 1997. His academic career started as a post-doc in Copenhagen, at the Institute of Economics. From 1998 to 2005 he worked at Erasmus University Rotterdam and at the Tinbergen Institute, where he taught various microeconomics courses. In 2005 he moved to the University of Groningen where he was Research Director of the Institute of Economics, Econometrics and Finance and team leader of a Marie Curie Excellence Grant on search and switching Costs. José L. joined IESE as an ICREA Research Professor in 2010. In addition to the study of the market imperfections generated by transaction costs, he works on energy economics, two-sided markets, advertising and research and development networks, fields in which he has published a number of research articles. In the last few years, I have dedicated a significant amount of research effort to understand competition in markets where prices are not perfectly visible for consumers (imperfect price information).
