This disclosure relates to a computer-implemented method for determining a vacancy-pattern for a carbon-based 2D layer.Many two-dimensional, 2D, materials (such as graphene) are being investigated for use in e.g electronic devices. a "two-dimesional material" or "2D material" refers to a material formed by a single layer of atoms or molecules that are linked together by chemical bonds. A structure may comprise adjacent or tacked 2D materials coupled together through non-bonding forces.
