Short biography
María Escudero Escribano (Cáceres, 1983) graduated in Chemical Engineering from the University of Extremadura and obtained her PhD in Electrochemistry from the Autonomous University of Madrid (2011). She was a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Denmark and Stanford University. After establishing and leading her independent research group at the University of Copenhagen, she joined ICN2 as an ICREA Research Professor and Group Leader in 2022. She was awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant in 2022 and is a member of the Young Academy of Spain. She has received several prestigious awards, including the European Young Chemist Award (Gold Medal, 2016), the Princess of Girona Scientific Research Award (2018), the ECS Young Investigator Award (2018), the RSEQ Young Researchers Award (2019), the Royal Academy of Sciences Foundation Award for Young Female Talent (2024), the "María Teresa Toral" National Research Award (2024), and the RSEQ Research Excellence Award (2026).
