La nit de la Recerca

Scientists from all over Catalonia share their work through talks, workshops, demonstrations, and games for all ages at the Nit de la Recerca.

The Nit de la Recerca is back in Barcelona, organized by the “la Caixa” Foundation and coordinated by Esciencia.

A free night open to all ages with speed dating with researchers, a research fair, workshops, escape games, storytelling, and popular science talks about cancer, climate, artificial intelligence, immunology, and much more.

This year, two ICREA researchers will take part with activities to bring research closer to the public:

• At the Research Fair, Kostas Kostarelos and the InBrain Neuroelectronics team will run the family activity Listen and Light Up Your Brain, where participants can build a simple 3D model of the brain and discover how INBRAIN technologies allow them to listen to its activity to better understand neurological diseases.

• Physics and music will meet at the Late Show ‘How the Universe Sounds: Jazz and Physics for Everyone.’ The Néstor Giménez Trio will perform pieces inspired by concepts from fundamental physics and the universe, which will serve as a starting point for a conversation with ICREA researcher Diego Blas (Institute of High Energy Physics, IFAE) about the speed of light, space and time, relativity, black holes, and gravitational waves.
