Yvonne Choquet-Bruhat i la detecció d'ones gravitacionals

I am the main organizer, as vicepresident of the Societat Catalana de Física, of the event on February 10, 2026 at the Institut d'Estudis Catalans to commemorate the 10 years of the announcement of the first detection of gravitational waves, and the fundamental work of Yvonne Choquet-Bruhat on the theoretical framework to calculate the gravitational waves emitted by two merging black holes. This event was organized to draw attention to Dr. Choquet-Bruhat as a role model for women in mathematics and theoretical physics. Although the need for these role models is often mentioned, the lack of recognition of Choquet-Bruhat as a brilliant and exemplary scientist in the general media is remarkable.
