Short biography
Imma Oliveras Menor is a plant ecologist specialising in mediterranean and tropical ecosystems, fire ecology and global environmental change. She is Research Director at the French Institute of Research for Development (IRD), Senior Researcher at the University of Oxford, and Permanent Visiting Professor at the State University of Mato Grosso in Brazil. Trained in environmental sciences at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, she has built an international career with appointments in France, the United Kingdom, Brazil, the Netherlands and the United States. Her work examines how fire, drought and land-use change shape plant communities, ecosystem function and resilience . She has led international research programmes, published extensively, and advised on fire management and conservation policy. She is also committed to teaching, mentoring and interdisciplinary collaboration, supervising researchers and students
