Short biography

Patrick Gamez earned his PhD in Organic Chemistry from Université Claude Bernard Lyon I, specializing in Enantioselective Catalysis. He pursued postdoctoral research at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, Université de Strasbourg (UCB Pharma), and Leiden University, where he led a research team. In 2010, he became an ICREA Research Professor at the University of Barcelona, founding the Nanoscience and Bio-Inorganic Chemistry group (www.nanobic.eu). He has authored 262 publications (h-index 61; >15,680 citations), led international research networks, and advanced the field of bioinorganic chemistry. He served as President of the Spanish Bioinorganic Chemical Society (2022–2025), is a Fellow of the RSC, member of SBIC, RSC, and RSEQ, sits on the Advisory Board of Inorganic Chemistry Frontiers, and was Associate Editor of RSC Advances (2015–2017).
