An optical fluid sensor and an optical fluid sensor arrangement

Different optical fluid sensors are known in the art, which generally have the need to include bulky and expensive optical elements such as optical filters and detectors, which traditionally constitute a barrier to the miniaturization of fluid sensors, particularly gas sensors, based on optical techniques.The present invention generally relates, in a first aspect, to an optical fluid sensor with a hight sensitivity based on exploiting polaritons and far-field and/or near-field light-matter interactions in the sensor.A second aspect of the present invention relates to an optical fluid sensor arrangement, such as an array, comprising a plurality of optical fluid sensors defined as the optical fluid sensor of the first aspect of the invention, and integrated into a single chip.
