Short biography
Bahareh Khezri earned her PhD in Chemistry from Nanyang Technological University (NTU, Singapore) in 2013, then conducted postdoctoral research in Singapore, the UK, and the Czech Republic, where she established and led her own group as a principal investigator. Her expertise spans analytical chemistry and electrochemistry, focusing on 2D materials and nanomaterials. She has secured competitive funding, including the Beatriu de Pinós fellowship (ICIQ) and the Ramón y Cajal program (URV). She is currently an ICREA Research Professor at URV and leads the Smart Multi-Functional Materials (SmFM) group. Her research develops advanced materials for energy technologies and intelligent microrobots for environmental and biomedical applications. In 2024, she received the Mothers of Science grant from the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST); in 2025, the Beijing Institute of Technology selected her as an international expert for a collaborative project.
