A total of eight Proof of Concept grants have been awarded in Catalonia by the European Research Council, five of which to ICREA Research Professors<\/strong>, and two more to ICREA Acad\u00e8mia<\/em> <\/strong>awardees.<\/p>\n

Jos\u00e9 Ram\u00f3n Gal\u00e1n-Mascar\u00f3s<\/strong> (ICREA at ICIQ<\/a>): U-SPEC, a novel platform for user-friendly spectroscopy at very low temperatures and under strong magnetic fields.<\/p>\n

Frank Koppens<\/strong> (ICREA at ICFO<\/a>): GRAPHEALTH, hybrid quantum dot and graphene wearable sensor for systemic hemodynamics and hydration monitoring.<\/p>\n

Ruben Mart\u00edn<\/strong> (again, ICREA at ICIQ<\/a>): OLE-DIOX, catalytic reductive carboxylation of unactivated olefins with carbon dioxide<\/p>\n

Samuel Sanchez <\/strong>(ICREA at  IBEC<\/a>): MICROCLEANERS, active microcleaners for water remediation<\/p>\n

Mel Slater<\/strong> (ICREA at UB<\/a>): PSI, personified self interaction<\/p>\n

Miquel Costas<\/strong> (UdG<\/a>): Biologically inspired chiral oxidation catalysts for commercial applications of fine chemistry.<\/p>\n

Xavi Ribas<\/strong> (again at UdG<\/a>): CatalApp, Copper Catalysis Applications.<\/p>\n

PoC (Proof of Concept) grants are funds to explore the possibilities of application of fundamental discoveries made with ERC research grants. Hence, only resarchers holding a previous ERC grant can apply to these.<\/p>\n
