Short biography
Steven P. Nolan obtained his PhD at the University of Miami in 1987 with Prof. C. D. Hoff. After a postdoctoral stay at Northwestern University (Evanston, IL) with Prof. Tobin J. Marks, he joined the faculty at the University of New Orleans as an Assistant Professor (1990) and was subsequently promoted to Associate Professor (1994), Full Professor (1997) and University Research Professor of Chemistry (1999). In May 2006, he was appointed Group Leader at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ). In October 2006 he was named ICREA Research Professor. Research interests
Our research deals with the fabrication of chemical tools for molecular assembly. In essence, we design and synthesize catalysts that permit the construction of complex molecules. The fields of application of these tools range from the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) to the synthesis of new polymeric and composite materials. Key words
