Short biography
I received the Special PhD prix (1997). I enjoyed a TMR postdoctoral contract in CNRS (Univ. Paris-Sud) and a TMR return contract (Univ. Valencia), both funded by the EU. I got a permanent position at the CNRS as scientist (CR1 class) where I was advisor of a research group. Then, I took a leave of absence to join the ICREA institution in 2004. I have six publications placed among the first hundred, more cited publications of the last ten years, in the chemistry area in Spain (10, 14, 25, 40, 57 and 68th positions). Furthwermore, two of them are placed on the first thousand more cited publications of the world. My "h" and "m" factors are 34 and 2.2, respectively, and my ratio of citations by publications is 31. In the last revision of the list of the more cited chemists in the last ten years (October 2007), I am placed in position 12th in Spain (798th and 2nd in the in the world and in Catalonia, respectively). Research interests
I work in the simulation of the magnetic behaviour of polynuclear complexes and extended systems. Among them, we can remark those that are small molecules or chains and behave as magnets. Also, I study the electronic factors that govern the magnetic and photophysical properties and the reactivity of metal complexes as well as of metal active sites of enzymes. Key words
