My research work focuses on the development of computational methodologies for the study of RNA biology. Recent advances in sequencing technologies provide an opportunity without precedent to study the function of non-coding RNAs in gene regulation and the interplay with chromatin and protein factors. In this context, we are studying the role of small RNAs in the transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulation of genes. In particular, we are interested how these mechanisms play a role in the onset and progression of cancer.
