Jens Biegert received his Ph.D. from the Technical University Munich, Germany, in 2001. He was recipient of the a Marie Curie Fellowship in 2001, the OSA Allen Price in 2004, and was named Research Assistant Professor in the U.S.A. in 2001. He took appointment as tenured ICREA Professor at ICFO in 2007 to build up a group in attoscience and strong field physics.

Research Interest

His research is concerned with investigations into ultrafast dynamics of matter and the generation of few-cycle light fields. The work falls into the general areas of ultrafast laser physics, nonlinear optics and strong field and attosecond physics. Technologies used encompass 5 fs CEP stable lasers, mid-IR OPCPA, SPIDER, FROG, UHV chambers for HHG, reaction microscopes, attosecond pump-probe and orbital tomography.
