Research Interest

Research in the field of Chemistry has always been the professional activity that I have most enjoyed, and in which I have been active since graduating in 1987 in Chemistry from the “Institut Quimic de Sarrià”. Throughout my career I had the opportunity to develop a strong understanding in topical and diverse areas of chemistry research such as Heterocyclic Chemistry, Molecular Recognition, Supramolecular Chemistry and Asymmetric Catalysis. I have had the opportunity to complement my academic background with the industrial experience gained in a number of research departments at Bayer-AG which have led me to identify and appreciate the problems faced by industry and how to best solve them. The ultimate aim of the research activities going on in my research group is the design and development of efficient and sustainable catalytic tools in asymmetric synthesis.
